| Jackson Community Ambulance (JCA) was formed on November 6, 1996 through the purchase of Jackson Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (JEMS). JCA is a nonprofit organization, and is a 50/50 partnership between Foote Hospital of Jackson and Huron Valley Ambulance of Ann Arbor. HVA is the managing partner. JCA handles approximately 16,000 calls
each year in Jackson and provides ambulance service in Lenawee and Calhoun Counties as well. JCA operates 10 paramedic units in Jackson County, 3 paramedic units in Lenawee County, and 2 paramedic units in Calhoun County. The organization owns an additional 3 back up ambulances.
The company's headquarters is located on Ingham Street in the City of Jackson, with substations Michigan Center and Spring Arbor. Other stations are located in Albion, Adrian and the Irish Hills.
