FAQ - How many ambulances do we own?

JCA owns a total of 18 ambulances and life support units which are licensed at the paramedic advanced life support level.  We gnerally use Type III modular ambulances for our paramedic units.  Our ambulances are typically replaced or remounted on a new chassis every 4-6 years, depending on where the unit is assigned, and the number of miles logged.  New ambulances cost approximately $80,000 each (without internal life support equipment).

Our ambulances are distributed throughout the following operating units:

  • Jackson Community Ambulance (JCA)
    • Paramedic Ambulances - 10
  • Lenawee Community Ambulance (LCA)
