EMS Expo is Michigan's largest continuing education conference for the emergency medical profession.  The Expo is sponsored by the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services and the Michigan Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.  Staff from ambulance services throughout the state compete individually on written exams and in teams for practical scenarios.

JCA paramedics out-performed twelve other paramedic teams from throughout Michigan in the contest.  Martin and Dudley also placed 2nd and 3rd in the written test, which was taken by 36 state paramedics.

The practical scenario involved a cardiac arrest victim who had taken an overdose of medication.  The other scenario involved an auto accident victim.  60% of the competitive scoring was based on the written examination, with the remaining 40% based on the patient care scenarios.

"I was very pround of our team", said Dirk Borton, JCA's Vice President for Operations.  "All of our people do a great job, day in and day out, and it is wonderful to see them get state-wide recognition.  Jackson really looked good when JCA won".
