JCA wins multiple first place awards at Michigan EMS competition | ||
|
Jackson Community Ambulance took first place in the five competitions they entered at the 2009 Emergency Medical Services Expo statewide competition, held April 17-18 in Grand Rapids. Paramedics Jayme Klink, Matt Matthias and Emily Ward won first place in the Advanced Life Support (ALS) practical competition while EMT-Specialist Jen Britt and EMT Jennifer Matthias won the Basic Life Support (BLS) practical competition. Matt Matthias and Emily Ward took first and second place respectively in the paramedic written competition; Jen Britt won first place in the EMT- Specialist written competition; and Jennifer Matthias took first in the EMT written competition. EMS Expo is Michigan’s largest continuing education conference for the emergency medical profession. Employees from emergency services throughout the state compete individually on written exams and in teams for practical scenarios.
