Visitation for Cheryl Kiefer will be at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, 137 S. Main Street, Brooklyn, Michigan on:

Uniformed Walk Through on Wed. night

A uniformed walk through is planned for Wednesday, January 30, at 7:00 pmHVA/JCA crews will go first then fire departments and police departmentsAll HVA crews should feel  free to attend the visitation at any time and participate in the walk through if they wish. For the walk through, please arrive at 6:45 pm and enter through the back door of the funeral home.

Funeral for Cheryl Kiefer

The funeral service will be at the Somerset Beach Free Methodist Church, US-12 in Somerset Center, approximately 4 miles west of US-127 on:

Following the funeral, there will be a procession from the church to Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn for burial.  All employees are encouraged to attend in uniform.  There will be a luncheon after the cemetery service at the Michigan International Speedway Entertainment Building.

Use MIS Main Entrance off of US-12. Veer immediately to the right; entertainment building is just past the guard building. There will be lots of signs to point people in the right direction.

Funeral Parking on Thurs.

On Thursday morning, HVA/JCA personnel are encouraged to park at MIS, across from the sign and the entertainment building (see Entertainment Building directions above). Enter at the speedway main entrance off US- 12, turn right and go past the guard shack, then park on the left hand sideWe will travel to the church in the ambulances and other vehicles to  help with the limited parking at the church and cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to HVA (Huron Valley Ambulance) to be used for the Cheryl Kiefer Memorial Scholarship Fund or to Autism Speaks. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Kiefer, Cheryl age 23, of Brooklyn passed away suddenly Saturday, January 26, 2008. She was born September 28, 1984 in Jackson the daughter of Ronald and Kathy (Love) Kiefer. Cheryl is survived by her parents of Brooklyn, her sister: Becky (Kevin) Verdier of Manitou Beach, MI, maternal grandfather: Wayne Love, paternal grandfather: Wallace Kiefer and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by infant sister, Victoria, paternal grandmother: Pauline Kiefer and maternal grandmother: Alice Love. Cheryl was very patriotic and served our country in both the Army and the Marines. She has also served with the Columbia Township Fire Department and was currently working as an EMT for Jackson Community Ambulance. Cheryl was driven to serve people with great passion. She was a very loving and dedicated daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will take place at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel in Brooklyn on Tuesday, January 29th  from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday, January 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. A Healing Farewell Service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Dave Luke officiating at the Somerset Beach Free Methodist Church ( 4 miles west of US 127 off US-12 in Somerset Center) Cheryl will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn.
